Censor audio online, automatically

Upload a podcast or interview, the curse words are found for you. Bleep or mute them and download clean audio.

How it works

Hit play, or read the four steps below

  1. 1. Upload the recording

MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC or M4A, up to 500 MB, straight from the browser

  2. 2. Read it as text

Every spoken word as text, the ones you pick underlined

  3. 3. Cover each word

A bleep, a stretch of silence or a sound of your own, word by word

  4. 4. Download clean audio

Same format you uploaded. WAV and FLAC come back lossless.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I censor audio online for free?
Yes. Every account gets 20 minutes of transcription a month at no cost, no credit card. Free audio exports end with a short Instableep audio tag. A one-time $4.99 pack adds 60 minutes that never expire and removes the tag for good.
Which audio formats work?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC and M4A, up to 500 MB per file. The export comes back in the format you uploaded. Video files work too.
How do I remove curse words from an audio file?
Upload it and wait for the transcript. Click or type the words to bleep or load the curse words preset, pick the sound, and download.
How does AI censor audio?
A speech model transcribes the file with a timestamp on every word. Each word on your list gets a bleep or silence over exactly that span. You see the whole transcript, with a confidence score per word, before you export.
Will censoring change the length of my audio?
No. The bleep or silence replaces the word in place and nothing is cut, so every timestamp stays where it was. Free exports only add the short tag at the end.
Does it lower the audio quality?
WAV and FLAC come back lossless. MP3, AAC and M4A are compressed formats, so the export is encoded once more, the same as saving from any audio editor.
Can it censor a podcast with several speakers?
Yes. The transcript covers everyone on the recording. Two people talking over each other is where a word can slip, so search the transcript for anything you expect and add it by hand.
Can it remove swear words from songs?
Yes. Pick the words and the lyrics get bleeped the same way as speech. Clear vocals over the beat give the best results.
Where are my files stored?
In the EU, encrypted at rest, in your library until you delete them. Deleting a file removes it and its exports at once.
Censor audio online versus in an audio editor
In Audacity or a DAW you listen through, find each word, select it and generate a tone. Online, the transcript does the finding, so a 45 minute episode is a few minutes of review instead of 45 minutes of listening.
