Frequently Asked Questions

What does the free plan include?
20 minutes of transcription, 200 minutes of editing, 500 MB of storage and a 500 MB maximum file size. Exports carry a watermark until your first purchase.
How much editing time do I get?
Ten times your plan's transcription time, every month. Each bleeped export uses the length of the file, and the allowance resets with your transcription balance.
What are parallel bleeps?
How many of your files are bleeped at the same time. Free does one, Starter 2, Pro 5, Max 10. The rest wait in your queue, and paid plans go before free ones.
How does transcription time work?
Each finished transcription deducts the length of the file. The balance resets to your plan's allowance every billing period, unused time does not roll over.
Is there a file length limit?
Yes, 10 hours per file on every plan. Longer files are refused at upload.
What file types are supported?
Video: MP4, M4V, MOV, WEBM, MKV Audio: WAV, FLAC, AAC, MP3, M4A
Do free exports have a watermark?
Yes. Free exports carry a small Instableep watermark on video and a short audio tag. Any purchase, whether a plan or a credit pack, removes it from all your exports permanently.
Will the edited media preserve quality?
Yes. Paid exports copy your video stream untouched and keep the original format. Free exports re-encode the video once to add the watermark, at near-lossless quality and never downscaled, and a free .webm export comes back as MP4.
Can I use my own bleep sound?
Yes. Alongside our built-in sounds, every paid plan lets you upload your own custom bleep sound.
Does the one-time credit pack expire?
No. Credit-pack minutes never expire and stack on top of your balance. Buying one also removes the watermark permanently.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes, any time from the billing portal in your account. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the paid period, the unused part is not refunded. If you are in the EU or EEA, a 14-day right of withdrawal applies to your first purchase, as described in our Terms.
Is commercial use allowed?
Yes. These are your files, after all. You are permitted to use the edited videos for commercial purposes. Feel free to utilize these files for any legal activities.
What languages are supported?
For the best transcription results, we recommend selecting the appropriate language and its variant: English, English (Australian), English (British), English (US), Afrikaans, Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Assamese, Azerbaijani, Bashkir, Basque, Belarusian, Bengali, Bosnian, Breton, Bulgarian, Burmese, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Faroese, Finnish, French, Galician, Georgian, German, Greek, Gujarati, Haitian, Hausa, Hawaiian, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Javanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Latin, Latvian, Lingala, Lithuanian, Luxembourgish, Macedonian, Malagasy, Malay, Malayalam, Maltese, Maori, Marathi, Mongolian, Nepali, Norwegian, Norwegian Nynorsk, Occitan, Panjabi, Pashto, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Sanskrit, Serbian, Shona, Sindhi, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Spanish, Sundanese, Swahili, Swedish, Swiss German, Tagalog, Tajik, Tamil, Tatar, Telugu, Thai, Tibetan, Turkish, Turkmen, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Welsh, Yiddish, Yoruba
