This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar tracking technologies used on instableep.com (our marketing site) and app.instableep.com (the Instableep application), and how you can control them. It describes only what actually runs on these sites — nothing more.
Instableep is operated by Renārs Dāvids Bitenieks, a self-employed individual (saimnieciskās darbības veicējs) registered with the State Revenue Service (VID) of the Republic of Latvia ("we", "us", "our"). We are based in Riga, Latvia. For more detail on how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small data files stored on your device when you visit a website. First-party cookies are set by us; third-party cookies are set by another provider (for example, an advertising or measurement service). Some tracking technologies, such as cookieless analytics, count visits without storing any cookie at all. Browser storage works like a cookie but is not sent with every request. We use the technologies listed below.

Our home and landing pages show a tutorial video hosted on YouTube. The page loads the small script that draws the
video from jsDelivr, a public file delivery network, which receives your IP address and browser
details like any file download but sets no cookies. Nothing loads from YouTube when the page opens: pointing at or
focusing the video opens connections to Google's servers (YouTube, google.com and Google's DoubleClick
ad domains), which receive your IP address, and only pressing play loads YouTube's player (from
youtube-nocookie.com, or youtube.com on Apple and mobile browsers). From then on YouTube
(Google) may set cookies or store data on your device under
Google's privacy policy.
Because it only happens when you ask to play the video, it is not part of the cookie banner. Our website host,
Netlify, sets no cookies.
Separately from cookies, we run server-side advertising measurement: when you sign up or make a purchase
and have accepted advertising cookies, a hashed (irreversible) version of your email, the
event, its time and a reference (your account number for a sign-up, the Stripe checkout or invoice ID for a
purchase) are sent to Google. A purchase also carries its amount excluding tax and its currency and, if you
started the checkout after clicking one of our Google ads, the ad click identifier (gclid) that the
_gcl_aw cookie above holds, which the app passes to Stripe with the checkout. The events are sent
from our servers, not from your browser, and set no cookie on your device. If you reject or withdraw consent,
these events are not sent. It is described in our Privacy Policy.
Our cookie banner is opt-in: the optional advertising cookies above are blocked until you act. The banner offers Accept all and Reject all with equal prominence, plus a Manage preferences screen:

advertising cookies that may have been set previously.
The necessary cc_cookie (which remembers this choice) and the
cookieless Plausible analytics run either way, as they do not require consent. The sign-up source
stored in your browser (signupAttribution) follows your advertising choice: it is set only after
you accept. The other cookies and browser storage we set ourselves, listed above, are
necessary or preference storage and are set whatever you choose.
Your advertising choice also governs the server-side measurement described above: rejecting — or later withdrawing — consent stops the hashed sign-up and purchase events from being sent to Google.
Your consent choice is stored for 365 days. You can change or withdraw it at any time using the button below (or, in the app, the Cookie settings button in your account's Privacy settings). Withdrawing also stops the server-side hashed sign-up and purchase events described in our Privacy Policy.
You can also block or delete cookies at any time through your browser's settings; the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge explain how.
We may revise this Cookie Policy when the technologies we use change. We update it manually and any change is reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. There is no automatic update mechanism.
